Ms. Lucas practices intellectual property law, including both patent prosecution and litigation. The patent prosecution aspect of her practice has a concentration in the mechanical and chemical arts, including an emphasis in life sciences. Her practice includes the preparation of opinions on patentability and validity.

Ms. Lucas brings to her practice the skill and insight of her eleven years of experience as an engineer at 3M Company. As an engineer, she has developed and commercialized many products and has knowledge in a breadth of technology areas such as micro reflective lens, adhesives, nonwovens, and micro replication. Ms. Lucas was the leader of a team that received a Golden Step Award, the most prestigious award given for commercializing a product satisfying over $10 million in sales within 3 years. As a developer and leader, she has helped draft extensive records of invention to prepare patent applications. She has drafted art matrices and helped structure claims in utility applications. She has also worked on the filing of seven design patents and aligned patents with products for patent marking purposes.
