Merchant & Gould Attorney Brian Dorn Travels to Israel With Congressman Erik Paulsen

Trip Organized By Jewish Community Relations Council

MINNEAPOLIS, December 11, 2009 - Merchant & Gould, an intellectual property law firm, is pleased to announce that attorney Brian Dorn recently returned from a trip to Israel where he toured alongside U.S. Representative Erik Paulsen of Minnesota's Third Congressional District and Minnesota business leaders. The tour was organized by the Jewish Community Relations Council (JCRC) as part of its Stand Up for Israel! program.

The tour included meetings with Knesset members Ofir Akunis, chair of the Economic Affairs Committee, Yohanan Plesner, and Benny Begin, a former Minister of Science. The delegation also met with a representative of Medtronic Israel and discussed Israeli biological and medical technology and health care issues.

"This entire experience has been tremendously rewarding," said Brian Dorn, Ph.D., of Merchant & Gould. "Our meetings with business and political leaders helped underscore the relationship between the United States and Israel with regard to scientific progress and mutual business interests."

In addition, the tour included visits of Poriya hospital in Tiberias that is affiliated with the University of Minnesota and an absorption center in Mevasseret Zion that specializes in acclimating new Ethiopian immigrants. The delegation also toured numerous religious sites and Yad Vashem.
