Merchant & Gould, an intellectual property law firm, today announced that attorney Matthew L. Fedowitz has joined its Washington, D.C. office where he focuses his practice on Hatch-Waxman litigation.
Matthew has a broad intellectual property background that includes Federal District court litigation, interferences, opinion work, and counseling on patent prosecution strategy and portfolio management in the U.S and abroad. In addition to focusing on pharmaceuticals, his IP experience extends into medical devices, biotechnology, telecommunications and Internet technologies where he is frequently involved in due diligence analyses for patent licensing and corporate transactions.
Matthew is a former patent examiner at the United States Patent and Trademark Office where he was responsible for patent applications relating to heterocyclic organic chemistry in the pharmaceutical and carbohydrate fields.
He obtained his J.D. from the University of Miami School of Law, and earned Pharm.D. from the University of Maryland. He also has a B.S. in molecular biology from Virginia Commonwealth University.
