Paul Prendergast, Ph.D. and Cara Crowley-Weber, Ph.D. Bring Veteran Experience to Firm’s Global Generic Pharmaceutical Practice


Merchant & Gould, an intellectual property law firm, today announced that Paul J. Prendergast, Ph.D. and Cara L. Crowley-Weber, Ph.D. have joined its Denver office as partners. Both attorneys focus on counseling clients in the biotechnology and chemical practice areas.

Paul J. Prendergast, Ph.D. has experience in various aspects of client counseling including U.S. and foreign patent prosecution, freedom-to-operate opinions, infringement and validity opinions, licensing agreements and overall due diligence reviews. Paul has particular interest in working with clients to manage their patent portfolios and develop business strategies.

Mr. Prendergast obtained his J.D. from the University of Denver, his Ph.D. in microbiology and immunology from the University of Colorado Health Sciences Center in Experimental Pathology, and has a B.A. in biochemistry and molecular, cellular, developmental biology from the University of Colorado.

Cara L. Crowley-Weber, Ph.D. focuses her practice on patent prosecution in the biotechnology and chemical practice areas. She has experience in various aspects of client counseling including U.S. and foreign patent prosecution, freedom-to-operate opinions, infringement and validity opinions, licensing agreements and overall due diligence reviews.

Ms. Crowley-Weber received her B.S. in Animal Science from the University of Arizona, her Ph.D. in Microbiology and Immunology from the University of Arizona, Health Sciences Center, and her J.D. from the University of Arizona, James E. Rogers College of Law.
