As a lifelong learner, Brad loves his career in law, particularly litigating intellectual property cases. He's always learning about the latest technology, one day arguing a lawsuit about airport scanners and a few months later one that relates to electronic dog collars.

Brad is a partner with Merchant and Gould and was one of the founding members of Pitts and Brittian, P.C. He practices primarily in the area of patent, trademark, unfair competition, copyright and trade secret litigation, and dispute resolution. He also counsels clients regarding various intellectual property-related matters, including the acquisition and protection of trademark rights, and assists clients in the registration of trademarks and copyrights. Brad is also listed as a mediator with the United States District Court for the Eastern District of Tennessee.

Litigation can be stressful for clients, and Brad makes it his mission to step in and shoulder much of the burden. He enjoys the interaction with his clients, and he works hard to earn their respect and establish a close, long-term relationship.

Off-hours, Brad enjoys playing the guitar, painting, woodworking, and backpacking in the beautiful Smoky Mountains.
