As an undergraduate, Steven first learned about patents and intellectual property in his introductory engineering courses. The thought of working with inventors on their latest inventions led him to pursue a career as a patent attorney.
Steven’s practice focuses on patent prosecution and management. He has extensive experience in preparing and prosecuting U.S. and foreign patent applications in a wide variety of fields, including aircraft instrumentation, amusement park rides, animal training devices, computer architecture, digital control systems, exercise equipment, medical devices, nuclear industry instrumentation, pet products, robotics, software and telecommunications. His patent prosecution practice encompasses both U.S. and foreign patent prosecution.
Steven counsels client companies of all sizes on their intellectual property rights and goals, including advising on the acquisition, defense, and licensing of their intellectual property. He has prepared infringement, invalidity and patentability opinions relating to patents and products. Steven has also worked with clients to acquire and/or commercialize their intellectual property through licensing agreements with individuals, corporations, and technology transfer offices.
In addition, Steven has experience in patent and trademark litigation, including developing and implementing litigation strategies, preparing motions and pleadings, and coordinating discovery and e-discovery.
In his spare time, Steven enjoys hunting, fishing, boating, skiing and horseback riding.
