David St. John-Larkin is a registered patent attorney whose intellectual property practice emphasizes patent litigation and prosecution, as well as strategic patent portfolio management, in the fields of electrical engineering and computer science.

Dave's patent law background spans a wide range of technologies, including telecommunications (e.g., cable, satellite, wireless, broadband), computer hardware and software, data communications and protocols, networking, digital and analog circuits, signal processing, and semiconductor technologies. His technical background includes extensive programming experience in several programming languages on platforms including Microsoft- and UNIX-based client-server networks.

Prior to joining Merchant & Gould, Dave worked as an Associate with Greenberg Traurig and as Corporate Patent Counsel for EchoStar Communications Corporation (NASDAQ: DISH). His patent-related work at EchoStar encompassed licensing, patent prosecution and management, and patent litigation management and support. During law school, Dave also interned for Cable Television Laboratories (CableLabs), Inc.
