Merchant & Gould, a leading national IP law firm, today announced that Jeffrey D. Blake has joined its Atlanta office as partner. Blake focuses his practice on patent infringement litigation, especially within the pharmaceutical, electrical engineering and computer software industries.

Blake was most recently with Sutherland Asbill & Brennan, LLP, where he led the intellectual property litigation practice in Atlanta and was head of its generic pharmaceutical business development unit. Blake received his J.D. from the University of Virginia School of Law, where he was editor-in-chief of the Virginia Journal of Sports and the Law. He obtained a B.S. in electrical engineering, summa cum laude, from the University of Alabama.
