Merchant & Gould is pleased to welcome new associate attorneys Karen Beckman, Ph.D., and Lindsay Hartman, to its Minneapolis office.
Karen Beckman joins Merchant & Gould's Litigation and Chemical & Life Sciences practice groups after serving as a summer associate at the firm in 2015 and 2016. Her intellectual property practice will focus on Hatch-Waxman litigation, appellate work, and patent prosecution. Karen received a J.D. from Mitchell Hamline School of Law, a Ph.D. in chemistry from the University of Minnesota, an M.S. in medicinal chemistry from the University of Kansas, and a B.S. in chemistry from North Dakota State University. She just passed the Minnesota Bar exam. Originally from neighbor state North Dakota, Karen now roots for the Kansas Jayhawks.
Lindsay Hartman, previously an associate at Kagan Binder in Stillwater, Minnesota, joins Merchant & Gould's Electrical & Software practice group. Her practice will focus on the preparation and prosecution of domestic and international patent applications in the electrical, software, and mechanical fields. With experience as a lab technician at American Medical Systems, Lindsay's technical background includes the mechanical and electrical device, chemical, food, and biotechnology industries. She received a J.D. from Mitchell Hamline College of Law and a B.S. in biology from the University of Minnesota. A native of the state, Lindsay is admitted to the Minnesota Bar and the U.S. Patent and Trademark Office.
