Intellectual property law firm Merchant & Gould today announced that two attorneys from its trademark practice were named to World Trademark Review’s WTR 1000, the first and only stand-alone ranking publication to focus exclusively on trademark practices and practitioners.
Andrew S. Ehard is recognized as a top attorney in Minnesota for the management of domestic and global trademark portfolios. He assists his clients in selecting, protecting and maintaining their trademark rights, and also works on opposition and cancellation proceedings at home and abroad.
Scott W. Johnston is named one of the top attorneys in Minnesota for trademark litigation, trademark prosecution and clearance, as well as on domain name disputes and other related actions.
Selections for the WTR 1000 were based on research that covered more than 50 key jurisdictions and identified the leading practitioners and their firms in both contentious and non-contentious work. World Trademark Review’s editors launched a three-month long qualitative research project in which analysts conducted hundreds of interviews with trademark specialists, both private practice and in-house, in more than 50 key jurisdictions. WTR editors and researchers conducted telephone interviews and exchanged correspondence with hundreds of lawyers, attorneys and their clients involved with trademarks.
