November 22, 2010

Merchant & Gould, an intellectual property law firm, today announced that Jon Trembath recently spoke on behalf of the Chief Judge of the United States Court of Appeals for the Federal Circuit, the Honorable Randall R. Rader, at the judge's portrait presentation in Washington, D.C. Mr. Trembath was the only practicing attorney asked by Judge Rader to speak on his behalf.

"As a former judicial clerk for Judge Rader, it was an honor to participate in his portrait ceremony," said Trembath. "His judicial temperament ensures that the Court is in great hands."

Approximately 400 people attended the ceremony on November 19, including the entire Federal Circuit bench, Judge Rader's former clerks, judges from around the world including China, Japan and Europe, judges from many courts and many prominent lawyers in the IP community.

Other speakers included Senator Orin Hatch, the Honorable Judge Dee Benson, professors Marty Adelman and John Whealan of George Washington University, and Tina M. Chappell, in-house counsel at Intel Corporation.
