Merchant & Gould is pleased to announce it has been ranked 7th in the list of top trademark litigators in the United States and second for fastest-growing trademark practice in 2006 by IP Law360.

The report identifies Merchant & Gould as one of the top ten trademark practice groups in a survey of the 300 largest U.S. law firms and 28 intellectual property boutiques as measured between January 1, 2006 and December 31, 2006.

The firm also ranked second in the category of fastest growing trademark practice groups as measured by new cases taken in 2006. The growth was listed at 38 percent, only 1 percent below the fasting-growing firm.

"The growth of our trademark group over the past few years has been tremendous," said Scott Johnston, chair of Merchant & Gould's trademark group. "We have many smart, hardworking attorneys that do nothing but counsel and litigate in trademarks. This gives us depth and experience found almost nowhere else in the country. If the brand is important, businesses know Merchant & Gould will safeguard it."
