Merchant & Gould, an intellectual property and litigation law firm, announced that Tong Wu has joined its Minneapolis office as an associate. Tong practices general intellectual property law with an emphasis on patent prosecution and client counseling.
Tong's practice includes primarily patent counseling and procurement. He has extensive experience in obtaining patent protection, rendering opinions on patent infringement and validity, competitive IP analysis, and IP litigation for U.S. and international clients. He has handled cases across a wide range of technologies, including semiconductor and superconductor devices, optical systems, electronics, medical imaging and diagnostic systems, orthopedic implants and chemical plants.
Tong obtained his law degree from the William Mitchell College of Law. He also holds a doctorate degree in Materials Science from Cornell University and a M.S. degree in Electrical Engineering from the University of Wisconsin, Madison. Tong is a member of the Minnesota Intellectual Property Law Association.
