Merchant & Gould is pleased to announce that Rachel Clark Hughey has been elected Chair of the firm’s Strategic Planning Committee. The Committee is responsible for updating the firm's strategic plan, as well as evaluating and recommending new initiatives consistent with the plan. In addition, a major part of the plan includes initiatives for ensuring superior client service and for maintaining its leadership as a national intellectual property boutique.
Hughey is a partner in the firm’s litigation group, leads the appellate practice, and is the head of the pro bono committee. She has proven to be a thought leader and trusted consultant on appellate matters, and has helped various teams with strategic planning at the trial level when appeal is a possibility. A hallmark of her interaction with clients is endeavoring to understand their needs in order to develop an effective strategy to meet their goals. Hughey has demonstrated her aptitude for strategic thinking, and the firm is confident that it will benefit from her chairing the Committee.
