Emily is an associate in Merchant & Gould’s Minneapolis office. She practices in all areas of intellectual property law, with a focus on patent, copyright, and trademark litigation. In particular, Emily uses her background as a licensed pharmacist to advance clients’ interests in Hatch-Waxman proceedings.  

Prior to attending law school and joining Merchant & Gould, Emily received her Doctorate of Pharmacy from Drake University. She spent the final year of her doctorate program at various sites throughout the United States and Canada, including the U.S. Food & Drug Administration. During her time at the University of Minnesota Law School, Emily served on the board of the Women’s Law Student Association and was a student instructor in the legal writing program. 

Outside of her practice, Emily enjoys biking, playing tennis, cheering for the Minnesota Wild, and traveling.
