As an associate in Merchant & Gould’s Minneapolis office, Karen practices in all areas of intellectual property law with an emphasis on Hatch-Waxman litigation, appellate work, and patent prosecution.
Prior to attending law school and joining Merchant & Gould, Karen completed graduate studies in both organic and medicinal chemistry. Through these experiences Karen developed an extensive technical understanding within multiple chemical disciplines. This diverse experience set provides her with the skills needed to quickly learn new technologies. During law school, Karen served as president of the Student Intellectual Property Law Association and was the first student to receive Mitchell Hamline’s Patent certificate.
Outside of her practice, Karen enjoys swing dancing, cooking, and cheering for the Kansas Jayhawks.
