With eleven years' experience developing and commercializing products as an engineer at 3M, Loretta understands firsthand which questions to ask inventors when she's drafting patent applications and how to best highlight the unique details that set the invention apart.

Loretta practices intellectual property law, including trademark clearance, registration, and enforcement, patent prosecution and preparation of opinions on patentability and validity. She works hard to add value to her clients’ businesses by providing in depth analysis on all aspects of Intellectual Property. Loretta’s breadth and depth of intellectual property experience is extensive in patent prosecution – both domestic and foreign – in the mechanical and Life Sciences fields. She enjoys IP Due Diligence work and protecting clients from the pitfalls of intellectual property law.  Loretta specializes in developing sound intellectual property portfolio management strategies, with particular focus on leveraging the value and protection of trademarks and patents.

As an engineer at 3M, Loretta has developed and commercialized many products and has knowledge in a breadth of technology areas, including micro reflective lens, adhesives, nonwovens, and micro replication. She was the leader of a team that received a Golden Step Award, the most prestigious award given for commercializing a product satisfying over $10 million in sales within 3 years. As a developer, inventor, and leader at 3M, she has helped prepare patent applications, assisted in filing seven design patents, and has aligned patents with products for patent marking purposes. Loretta has experience in drafting art matrices and structuring claims.

Loretta volunteers a pro bono attorney for the Volunteer Lawyer's Network doing housing court for low-income clients in need of legal advice. She also volunteers with LegalCORPS Inventor Assistance Program (IAP) assisting inventors in obtaining a patent.

Loretta is a black belt candidate in Tae Kwon Do, which she started with her son during law school. She also enjoys shooting at the gun range, running, and attending her son's sports and extracurricular activities.
