Roshni Patel practices intellectual property law with an emphasis on patent matters. Her practice focuses on patent prosecution, litigation, and post-grant procedures in technology areas related to electrical, software, electronics, semiconductors, medical devices, and mechanical technologies.

Roshni has extensive experience counseling clients with patent strategy as it relates to their domestic and international patent portfolios. Roshni has also assisted clients in reviewing their entire patent portfolio to identify competitive value, validity, and enforceability positions.

Prior to practicing law, Roshni worked for Rockwell Collins, Inc. where she focused on design engineering for military GPS communication systems and systems engineering for satellite communication systems. Roshni also worked at John Deere & Company in the power engine systems electronics group as an engineering intern.

At Merchant & Gould, Roshni is co-chair of the Trade Secret Practice Group and chair of the Women’s Initiative Group. Roshni is also actively involved in Twin Cities Diversity in Practice and in pro bono work for non-profit organizations such as the Children’s Law Center of Minnesota and the Advocates for Human Rights.
