Todd is a registered patent attorney in the Atlanta office of Merchant. He is experienced in drafting and prosecuting U.S. patent applications, corresponding with foreign associates and prosecuting foreign applications, assisting in foreign opposition proceedings, drafting patent landscape reports, and drafting freedom to operate and invalidity opinions. Todd also has experience in inter partes reexaminations.

With fifteen years of experience and 6 U.S. Patents during a career in industry with major polymer film and plastics/packaging companies and a Fortune 50 chemical company, Todd truly understands the pressures and time constraints on inventors in the corporate world. He can put himself in his clients' shoes because he has been there, and he uses that insider's experience to produce top-quality legal work for his clients.

Todd handles patent matters in the material, pharmaceutical, chemical, superconductivity, thin film, coating/adhesive, polymer, catalyst, foam, packaging, wire & cable, flooring, medical device, semiconductor, instrumentation, and machinery/equipment industries.

Todd serves on the Georgia State University College of Law Intellectual Property Advisory Board and co-chairs the CIP CUP (Charity IP) Golf Tournament, proceeds from which benefit the Georgia Lawyers for the Arts, GSU Public Interest Law Association, and GSU IP Scholarship Fund.

Todd is married with three children. He enjoys attending his kids' sports events and activities and traveling to the beach in Destin, Florida, with his family.
