The case for creating and sustaining a law firm culture of diversity, equity, and inclusion is not only compelling in 2024 and beyond, it’s an absolute necessity. A diverse and inclusive workforce creates a more comfortable working environment, generates improved decision-making and problem-solving, and positively impacts a firm's performance. Implicit bias is the greatest impediment to creating DEI at work, so examining the topic is crucial. Until and unless we realize that we ALL have implicit biases, the journey toward DEI cannot truly begin. In addition, this session will focus on microaggressions and how they can negatively impact notions of inclusion.
