Merchant &amp; Gould is pleased to announce that Lea E. Westman has joined the firm as a partner, bringing more than a decade of experience in patent law. She focuses on chemical and materials science, medical devices, cosmetics, and the intersection of AI and life sciences, helping clients grow and protect their intellectual property portfolios.

Lea's passion for intellectual property law runs in the family—her grandfather, a patent attorney with a 60-year career, inspired her to forge her own path in the field. After spending over a decade at IP firms in Minneapolis, she now joins Merchant &amp; Gould's New York office.
