Harrell was selected by <a href="https://nbltop100.org/">The National Black Lawyers</a> for inclusion into its “Top 40 Under 40 Black Lawyers” in Colorado, an invitation-only honor given to the top 40 attorneys under the age of 40 in each state who excel in their profession and who promote diversity.

The National Black Lawyers is a professional honorary organization that promotes the nation’s top black attorneys and is designed to enhance the professional development of its members.&nbsp; With the selection of by The National Black Lawyers “Top 40 Under 40,” David has shown that he exemplifies superior qualifications, leadership skills and performance in his areas of legal practice. The selection process for this elite honor is based on a multi-phase process which includes peer nominations combined with third-party research.

David is a registered patent attorney whose practice encompasses areas including software and information technology, computer technology, and Internet-related technologies. &nbsp;He specializes in patent preparation and prosecution, infringement analysis, and global IP portfolio development.&nbsp;Last month, David was selected by the Leadership Council on Legal Diversity (LCLD) to be a member of the 2021 class of Fellows, to help advance the next generation of leaders in the legal profession.

In recent years, Merchant &amp; Gould has made strides in making its organization more diverse and inclusive. Most notably, the firm achieved certification under the Mansfield Rule to boost diversity in its leadership; established scholarships to increase diversity in the legal profession; and adopted comprehensive policies setting the standards for interacting with each other.&nbsp;Merchant &amp; Gould is also focused on diversity through hiring, retention, pro bono services, charitable efforts, community involvement and client development.
