Daniel L. Bruzzone is a Partner within Merchant and Gould’s Minneapolis, MN office. Daniel is a dedicated IP attorney who practices patent prosecution and filing strategy, with a focus on international practice. He is passionate about guiding his clients through complex situations and giving them quality recommendations on how to move forward while considering all the available options.

An Experienced Leader in IP Law

Daniel ignited his passion for patent law while working in product development in a major company. This experience gives Daniel a valuable perspective into the workings and needs of corporate clients. 

At Merchant and Gould in Minneapolis, Daniel is a leader in patent prosecution and strategy. He is also keenly interested in international issues and PCT procedures, as well as ex parte appeals at the USPTO. 

Daniel graduated Juris Doctor cum laude from the Mitchell Hamline School of Law (formerly William Mitchell School of Law) in 2013 where he was the Editor-in-Chief of Cybaris, an intellectual property law journal. During this time, he was also the President of the Student Intellectual Property Law Association. 

Daniel is a member of the Hennepin County Bar Association Institute for Leadership in the Legal Profession. Since 2009, Daniel has been an Assistant Head Election Judge in Ramsey County, Minnesota. 

Since 2013, Daniel has volunteered as a patent attorney in the LegalCORPS Inventor Assistance Program, where he provides pro bono legal assistance to Minnesota inventors. He has been listed as a North Star attorney every year since 2016 and received the 2020 Patent Pro Bono Achievement Certificate from the USPTO.

In 2021, Daniel was recognized as an Up and Coming Attorney by the Minnesota Lawyer Magazine and as a One to Watch in Best Lawyers. When he isn’t supporting his clients, Daniel spends time reading, traveling, woodworking, and studying French.
