Bahar Elahian is a patent agent in the firm’s Minneapolis office, where she works with clients to develop and protect innovations in electrical, computer, and emerging technologies. She focuses on patent drafting and prosecution, helping translate complex technical concepts into clear and effective intellectual property strategies.
Bahar brings experience across both patent prosecution and litigation support. She has drafted and prosecuted U.S. and international patent applications, conducted prior art searches and patentability analyses, and collaborated with attorneys to respond to office actions. She worked as a postdoctoral research assistant in the biomedical department at the University of Minnesota for 18 months. Her background also includes supporting litigation teams through technical analysis, preparation of infringement contentions, and evaluation of complex technologies to inform case strategy.
With a Ph.D. in electrical engineering and a strong technical foundation, Bahar is skilled at bridging the gap between innovation and legal protection. Her experience working with advanced technologies, including artificial intelligence, allows her to provide thoughtful and practical support to clients navigating competitive and rapidly evolving industries.
Her technical background spans a range of areas, including electrical and computer engineering, network security, data science and machine learning systems. She is also familiar with underlying technologies such as computer architecture, communications networks and protocols, and digital data processing and protection.
