Zachary (Zach) Zadow is an associate intellectual property attorney at Merchant &amp; Gould. He brings a focused, detail-oriented point of view to both patent prosecution  and litigation matters. For Zach, being a strong client advocate is critical. His years of experience in engineering and project management help him understand what matters most to a client’s business.

Zach is passionate about technology, including creative manufacturing solutions, building products, breakthrough consumer goods and medical devices. He loves working to understand a client's core goals and tailoring his advice to meet their needs.

Zach understands companies' constraints when making critical IP decisions. He thinks not only about what’s happening today but about what will be happening five years from now. His problem-solving abilities make him adept at providing the right options to clients so they can make informed decisions.

Moreover, Zach understands the importance of timely communication. His years of experience in project management ensure that he will stay ahead of critical deadlines.

Varied Experiences Bring a Unique Perspective&nbsp;

In undergrad, Zach studied materials engineering at the University of Minnesota and interned with both Medtronic and 3M. After graduation, Zach spent seven years working at Andersen Corporation as a product design engineer and project manager.

Transitioning into the legal profession, Zach started as a law clerk before moving into the associate attorney role. Zach graduated Summa Cum Laude and received his Juris Doctor from Mitchell Hamline School of Law. His experiences in these roles and with these companies give him a unique perspective on how best to protect his client’s intellectual property.

Zach was born and raised in Minnesota. He’s an avid board game player and has been into curling since he was six years old. When not playing on the ice, you can find Zach with his spouse, backpacking, hiking or canoeing outdoors.

<a href="https://www.merchantgould.com/Professionals/Bridget-Carmichael">Bridget Carmichael</a>, Minneapolis, works in the Litigation Practice Group. She serves various industries, including biotechnology, Hatch-Waxman litigation, and general litigation. Bridget received a B.S. in molecular genetics from Ohio State University, and a J.D., cum laude, from University of Minnesota Law School.



<a href="https://www.merchantgould.com/Professionals/Zachary-L-Krenz">Zachary Krenz</a>, Minneapolis, works in the Electrical and Software Practice Group. He focuses on preparing and prosecuting patents for clients in the fields of electrical engineering, software, and mechanical products, while assisting the litigation teams in patent-related matters. Zachary received a B.S. in computer science from University of Minnesota, and a J.D., magna cum laude, from University of Minnesota Law School.

She helps clients protect their intellectual property through litigation of trademarks, copyrights, trade secrets, and patents. River received a B.S. in molecular biology from University of Denver, and a J.D. from University of Minnesota Law School.

He is a patent prosecution attorney, helping clients protect their technologies through every step of the patent application process. Andrew received a B.S. in computer engineering from University of Notre Dame, and a J.D. from University of Notre Dame Law School.

As a patent prosecution attorney, he specializes in protecting inventors in the mechanical and electrical software industries.&nbsp;Rhett received a B.S. in electrical engineering from University of Tennessee, and a J.D. from University of Tennessee College of Law.

She focuses on patent prosecution and litigation in the life sciences, mechanical industries, and electrical industries.&nbsp;Sophia received a B.S. in biochemistry from University of Iowa, and a J.D., cum laude, from University of Minnesota College of Law.
